The Community of our Lady of Walsingham
"Called to the Fullness of Life and Love"

About Us » Introduction

Vocations Group ¦ Cornerstone ¦ COLW ¦ A Day in the Life.. ¦ Friends ¦ Hopes for the Future

We believe that there's every reason to be optimistic about the
future of religious life. At its very heart, the religious life is possible
because God continues to invite men and women to give
themselves fully, radically, to Him. Jesus continues to look upon
each one with love, and his glance is so compelling and so
attractive that they know they will only find happiness when they
say "YES".

This is the story of that 'Yes' being said by many different people
without whom this new religious community would not be in
existence.

One can speak of a Founding Equation - where God brings together
certain people in a series of circumstances, that only He could
orchestrate. Each one of them has a past, a present and a future.
At a certain point their paths crossed to bring into existence first
the Vocations Group, then Cornerstone, a discernment community, and then this new religious community, the Community of Our Lady of Walsingham. All this in just five years….. but in God's eyes 'a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise.' (2 Peter 3:8-9)

So let us not be surprised by what God can accomplish through us when we give Him full reign. Finding new ways and means to effectively, fruitfully and joyfully live life to the full as humans, Christians and vowed persons is not easy.

The following pages will give you a glimpse of our search to do so, what God has done in our lives and what our dreams and hopes are for the future. Should you wish to be part of this adventure please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. If not, please keep us all in your prayers so that we continue to discern well the way ahead for this, the youngest religious community in the UK, a fruit of the New Millenium.
